Beschreibung:

Reporting to the Global Head of IT the role will have to establish a consistent model for managing a worldwide distributed set of data centers in Europe, North America and APAC together with the regional responsible managers. The role will also be responsible for running global enterprise and business applications, network & voice infrastructure and applications, end user device infrastructure and technology infrastructure.

The main responsibilities of the Global Head of Data Center Operations include:

delivery of the required high end data center performance for internal and external customers including end user device management

develop leading edge ideas to enhance the technical base technologies to support rapidly increasing business requirements in respect to big data and real time analytics

support the overall transformation roadmap esp. regarding a vision and realization of worldwide consolidation of data centers

analyze the level of vertical integration depth, align with the overall business goals and adjust where necessary, incl. selection and implementation of external partners

exercise strategic leadership to deliver leading edge data center operation services

drive value added data center operations

Key Accountabilities include:

Develop a consistent operating model following approved standards for the global data center infrastructure located in Europe, North America and APAC with exceptional requirements on data storage and databases together with the regional responsible managers


following the new model efficiently manage the worldwide resources with the regional responsible managers: staff, plan, hire, and grow team members into a high performance team


Ensure 24/7 availability of key services with appropriate staff and resource planning


Prepare, manage and run a roadmap for necessary data center transformations to ensure appropriate service levels. This will include upgrade of base technology and infrastructure where required (best of breed)


Collaborate with business and IT partners to develop a strategic roadmap for efficient transformation of our data centers to be prepared for upcoming new strategic requirements esp. regarding Big Data and real-time analytics


Develop a clear strategy for a seamless cooperation between the existing server room operation on local level and data center operation on regional level as well as the collaboration between data centers


Ensure efficient continuity management and a continuous improvement process. Take care that data centers will be operated following actual security and safety guidelines


Align data center demand and supply side to business requirements including in depth analysis of required internal vertical integration depth and adjust where required


Manage global harmonization and consolidation of services provided; prepare business value based decisions on the required level of consolidation


Deliver prioritized and approved key strategic transformation initiatives in time, quality and budget in tight cooperation with project managers


Collaborate with other IT departments to establish an efficient sourcing and delivery model for strategic initiatives


Ensure that regional and global policies and standards will be observed and support defining future standards and policies


Manage the implementation of a strong leadership and self-dependent culture


Manage expectations, challenge requirements and help establish priorities


Drive the establishment of leading IT practices, methodologies, and controls for the delivery of data center operations, infrastructure services, network & voice and end-user device management

Skills:

– at least 15 years experience in a senior role (10 years in management of large scale high performance data center ops)

– experience in managing inter-cultural teams

– Proven and outstanding understanding of classical technologies

– management of high performance and large scale storage technologies and exceptional big data base installations

– Strong customer service orientation
